FYI, this story is more than a year old

Samsung has offered a sneak peak at the Galaxy S IV, tweeting the front view of the smartphone under the hash tag #TheNextBigThing.

Set for an official launch this Friday, NZT, Samsung appears to be enjoying the attention and will no doubt offer more 'previews' before the March 14 event in New York.

Referring to the "Unpacked" marketing slogan, used throughout the campaign, Samsung has previously published a poster and video, while not showing the smartphone until now.

Tweeting "The countdown for #TheNextBigThing has begun. Who’s ready for the Global Unpacked Event on March 14" Samsung are not the only ones keen to offer teasers it seems, with a Chinese forum allegedly going further.

The images, unearthed by Sammy Hub, look to show the new product in all it's glory, offering back and front photos as shown below.

To say the product is eagerly anticipated would be an understatement, but as with any new release, where's the fun in not gossiping about it beforehand?

According to the rumours we've gathered over the past few weeks, the Galaxy S 4 will have a larger screen, eye-scrolling technology, a 13-megapixel camera, a 1.8GHz quad processor and 2GB RAM.

Missed anything?

TechDay will be reporting live from the Samsung launch this coming Friday, scheduled between 11am and 2pm, so keep up to speed on the most eagerly anticipated, there's that phrase again, launch this year.

After all, nobody works on a Friday anyways.
