Apple gets expressive with awesome video editing app
The next social media trend could be hitting your screen soon with Apple's announcement today of their newest app, Clips.
Clips allows users to combine their own original video clips, photos and music to make videos that they can then share with their friends across various popular social media platforms.
Many different digital effects and filters can be applied to the videos for users to express their individuality when creating Clips.
The star of the show is Live Titles, an innovative feature that allows users to generate animated captions and titles using only voice input. Captions are generated as the user speaks, and they appear on screen perfectly synced with the user's voice. Live Titles supports 36 different languages.
"Clips gives iPhone and iPad users a new way to express themselves through video, and it's incredibly easy to use," says Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of apps product marketing.
"The effects, filters and amazing new Live Titles we've designed for Clips let anyone make great-looking, easily shareable videos with just a few taps.
According to Apple, making a video in Clips requires no complicated or technical editing tools. With a single touch users can shoot original photos and videos, or add existing media from their device.
Users can also add some flair to their video with artsy filters, emojis, animated backgrounds and custom text.
The Clips app has a range of soundtracks to choose from, which automatically adjust to fit the video.
When sharing with friends in Messages, Clips can suggest who to share with based on the people who appear in the video, and the people a user shares with most often. When a suggested name is selected, Clips inserts the video right into Messages so it's ready to send with one tap.
