D-Link bringing SmartBeam to NZ

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Networking solutions provider D-Link has announced it will offer its DIR-645 router, featuring the nifty SmartBeam antenna system, in the New Zealand market.

The SmartBeam system uses six multi-directional antennae with a sectorised design to locate and track individual devices. This allows it to focus beams of bandwidth to those devices, providing a better connection throughout the home or office.

Maurice Famularo, D-Link’s ANZ marketing director, says the device gives consumers whole-home coverage.

"D-Link has been able to ensure consistent coverage throughout the home by investing heavily in research and development,” Famularo says.

"We are very excited about being first to market with these new advancements in wireless technology.”

The DIR-645 Wireless N router will be available from D-Link retailers in December, for a retail price of $179.
