Exclusive: iPhone 5 NZ release date
Wed, 31st Aug 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old
According to Apple’s rigorous release schedule it should have been out a few months ago.
Now, with fans clamouring for news of the iPhone 5, TechDay has learned from a source within Apple that the device will be launched here in New Zealand on October 9.
The prediction fits in with the latest iPhone 5 speculation internationally, with Wall Street Journal saying last week that US telcos AT&T, Verizon and Sprint are all preparing for the device to hit stores in mid-October, around a month later than expected.
There is a chance this release could be delayed further if the device’s manufacturer is unable to improve its yield rate, WSJ adds, citing ‘people familiar with the situation’.
