Apple New Zealand has released the pricing for the new iPad, due to go on sale Friday morning.

The 16GB wi-fi only model will retail for $729, the same price as The Warehouse sold 100 parallel imported models for earlier today.

32GB and 64GB models will retail for $879 and $1029 respectively, with the ability to connect to 3G/4G to cost an additional $200.

The iPad 2 now retails for $579 for wi-fi only and $779 for wi-fi and 3G. Only 16GB models are currently listed on the Apple website.

Before the new iPad was announced earlier this month, an entry-level iPad 2 retailed for $799.

In countries where the iPad has already been released some users have complained about an increase in heat output compared with the iPad 2. Read the full story here.
