The iPad-friendly version of Skype has been released on the Apple app store for New Zealand and the rest of the world.

The eagerly anticipated app was announced over a month ago, but its release was delayed for unknown reasons, according to TUAW.

Releases of apps to the New Zealand store usually signal a long wait for users in other countries who have to endure time zone lag; however, the Skype release went worldwide within a few hours.
