Spammers break for Christmas too
Tue, 18th Jan 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old
Symantec’s latest State of Spam and Phishing report showed that spam made up 81% of all messages in December, compared with 84% in November.
This seems to show that the people behind those unwanted emails in your inbox also took a break for the holidays.
Global spam volumes fell sharply on Christmas day and hit a record low on December 27th before shooting back up to normal levels in January.
The spam percentage fell to 71% that day, which is the lowest Symantec has seen in recent years.
