“That’s all, folks' as Google Glass sells out on Day One
“That’s all, folks.”
Those are the three words casually used by Google this morning, when updating users on Google Glass sales.
After selling out of the eagerly anticipated device during the first 24 hours of sales, the internet search giant advised ‘explorers’ to hang on until a new batch of stock was released.
“We're out of spots in the Explorer Program for now, but may have more to share soon,” Google wrote via its Google Glass sign-up page.
Google offered its US$1,500 high-tech specs to customers across America without the usual invitation, leading to a flurry of interest, and subsequently sales, last a matter of hours.
Directing customers to the company’s sign-up page however, users have been advised to sign up for the time being, in the hope of receiving a sought-after invitation to buy the product.
“If you're a US resident with a US shipping address, over 18 years old, and are interested in joining, you can sign up here and we'll let you know if a spot opens up,” Google wrote.
“Please note that, while we'd like to invite everyone, we can't guarantee invites right now.”
