Mon, 9th Sep 2024

XGIMI has announced the launch of its latest 4K Ultra Short Throw (UST) smart projector, the AURA 2. The company claims that this new projector will revolutionise home entertainment with advanced technology and an elegant design.

The AURA 2 incorporates XGIMI’s updated Dual Light 2.0 technology, utilising a combination of “Wide Spectrum + Narrow Spectrum” hybrid light sources. This technological advancement delivers 2300 ISO Lumens of brightness and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The projector aims to provide vibrant colours and detailed imagery, transforming living rooms into cinematic spaces. Furthermore, its ultra-short throw ratio of 0.177:1 enables it to project a 100-inch screen from just 17.82 cm away. This makes it versatile for various living environments, from compact apartments to larger homes.

Endorsements such as Dolby Vision and HDR10 highlight the AURA 2’s capability to deliver high-quality visuals. The projector’s dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 aims to provide deep blacks and bright whites, enhancing the depth and detail of every frame. Additionally, the AURA 2 holds an IMAX Enhanced certification, allowing users to enjoy the benefits of IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio and exclusive audio format from DTS at home.

Regarding audio, the AURA 2 features built-in 60W Harman/Kardon speakers. These speakers are complemented by Dolby Atmos support, providing immersive three-dimensional sound. The integration of Android TV 11 facilitates easy access to popular streaming services, including YouTube, Prime Video, and Disney+. Additionally, applications like "XGIMI Wall" can transform the projector into an art display, offering extended utility beyond traditional viewing.

The AURA 2 aims to be user-friendly, featuring XGIMI's Intelligent Screen Adaption (ISA 5.0), which includes auto focus, auto keystone correction, wall colour and flatness adaptation, and a smart eco mode. This suite of features ensures optimal viewing conditions tailored to various environments. Connectivity options are extensive, with WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, Chromecast, three HDMI ports (one with eARC support), multiple USB ports, LAN, and audio input ports.

Designed to align with a premium lifestyle, the AURA 2 includes an automatic lens cover to protect the lens from dust and scratches. Additionally, XGIMI has developed a 100-inch Fresnel ALR screen with 80% ambient light resistance and 1.4x brightness gain to complement the projector.

The AURA 2 will be available for purchase from September 6th 2024 through authorised retail channels. XGIMI will also offer the projector as part of a bundle with the 100-inch Fresnel ALR screen, which can be purchased separately if required. The company will display the AURA 2 and other new products at the IFA event in Berlin from September 6th to 10th, 2024.

XGIMI continues to focus on delivering high-quality audiovisual solutions, aiming to enhance viewers' home entertainment experiences through cutting-edge innovations.
