Ultimate ears launches MINIROLL, a compact adventure speaker

Ultimate Ears has introduced MINIROLL, a new addition to its portable Bluetooth speaker lineup. The speaker features a hookable silicone strap designed for quick and secure attachment to various items such as bikes, boats, bags, or belt loops. Compact and lightweight, MINIROLL aims to cater to users with active lifestyles who seek seamless audio experiences across multiple activities.

"MINIROLL started with a consumer ask. We heard our fans loud and clear: they wanted a speaker that could strap in and go anywhere to keep up with their active lifestyles," stated Jonah Staw, general manager of Ultimate Ears. "This led our design and engineering teams to build our most portable speaker, showing how passionate consumers can drive innovation."

The heritage of Ultimate Ears' design ethos is evident in the new product. The first UE ROLL, launched in 2015, quickly became a popular choice due to its flat shape and convenient strap. MINIROLL, while smaller in design, incorporates an updated strap that maintains the spirit of the original UE ROLL. Ultimate Ears continues to focus on combining audio quality with practical, adventure-friendly features.

Weighing just 279 grams, MINIROLL is designed to be exceptionally portable. Its durability is reinforced by an IP67 rating, making it waterproof, dustproof, and drop-proof. These features establish it as a reliable companion for both outdoor excursions and poolside activities.

The technological aspects of MINIROLL include a custom driver, bass radiators, and extensive EQ tuning, all geared towards delivering optimal outdoor sound. Additionally, the speaker utilises Auracast™ technology, enabling an unlimited number of MINIROLL units to be paired for amplified sound, ideal for gatherings. Its connectivity options boast a Bluetooth range of 40 metres, up to 12 hours of battery life on a single charge, and a USB-C port for rapid recharging.

In terms of sustainability, MINIROLL is constructed using 100% post-consumer recycled polyester fabric and a minimum of 40% post-consumer recycled plastic parts. This effort gives a second life to plastics sourced from consumer electronics. The speaker's paper packaging is derived from FSC™-certified forests and other controlled sources.

Ultimate Ears MINIROLL is available for pre-order in various colours including black, blue, grey, and pink. Pre-orders can be made until 4 October 2024, after which the product will be available for direct purchase.
