Apple to announce earnings on April 23
Apple looks set to reveal the company's second quarter performance by the end of the month, following an update to investors this week.
The Cupertino firm made the announcement via its website, telling investors it plans to conduct a conference call to discuss financial results of its second fiscal quarter on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET.
It is widely expected that the company will unveil second quarter figures covering profits and sales numbers, with CEO Tim Cook and CFO Peter Oppenheimer no doubt on hand to explain the figures.
Apple reported a record 47.8 million iPhone sales during the previous quarter, compared to 37 million in the year-ago quarter.
Yet the sales just fell short of Wall Street expectations, who predicted the Silicon Valley firm would shift around 50 million products.
Apple also sold a record 22.9 million iPads during the quarter, compared to 15.4 million in 2011.
The company sold 4.1 million Macs, compared to 5.2 million in the year-ago quarter and 12.7 million iPods in the quarter, compared to 15.4 million last year.
