Capcom has announced that Case West - an Xbox 360-exclusive downloadable episode for Dead Rising 2 - will release on December 28th for the price of 800 Microsoft Points.

Case West re-introduces the hero of the original Dead Rising, Frank West, who fights alongside Dead Rising 2 protagonist Chuck Greene. It's set immediately after the events of Dead Rising 2, and will also re-introduce the photography mechanic from Dead Rising but notably absent from the sequel.

The observant will notice that it's twice as much as Case Zero, the downloadable prequel that shattered Xbox LIVE download records. Released in the months leading up to the launch of Dead Rising 2, many believe that Case Zero was an expertly played marketing exercise for the game.

It's unclear at this stage as to whether Case West will offer twice the content to justify the doubled price. However, it is known that, unlike Case Zero, Case West will allow co-operative play much like in Dead Rising 2.
