Lego launches comprehensive Formula 1 team sets for 2025

Fri, 22nd Nov 2024

The LEGO Group and Formula 1 have revealed a new range of LEGO sets representing all ten Formula 1 teams, marking the first time such a comprehensive line-up will be available.

Unveiled at the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix 2024, this launch is a key development in the multi-year partnership between LEGO and Formula 1, aiming to merge the fanbases of the renowned construction toy brand and the elite motor racing series.

The broad assortment includes sets from LEGO Speed Champions, LEGO City, LEGO DUPLO, and LEGO Collectibles, each enhancing the building experience by connecting enthusiasts with their favourite Formula 1 teams. The Speed Champions sets, specifically, offer intricate models that enable fans to construct mini versions of all ten teams, requiring detailed assembly reflective of the team cars and branded show vehicles.

For younger builders, the LEGO DUPLO Town F1 Team Race Cars & Drivers provides an accessible entry point with features like a starting grid and podium, alongside customisable elements that correspond to any Formula 1 team livery. It encourages creativity by allowing the construction of a personalised race car equipped for any Grand Prix weekend.

LEGO City fans can explore six new sets capturing various aspects of a Formula 1 race weekend. From vehicle transportation and pit stop action to team garages filled with repair stations, these sets let builders recreate the thrill of race day in their own homes.

Daniel Meehan, Creative Lead at the LEGO Group, commented, "We're delighted to finally reveal this incredible line-up of products coming in 2025. We hope these products will provide hours of creativity and play for F1 and LEGO fans alike, allowing them to recreate their favourite racing moments, as well as create some new ones."

Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership: "We are thrilled to partner with Formula 1, an iconic brand that shares our commitment to innovation, creativity, and inspiring future generations. Together, we're creating products that ignite curiosity and foster a love of engineering and speed in builders of all ages. This collection uniquely combines the excitement of Formula 1 with the endless possibilities of LEGO play, capturing all 10 teams on the F1 grid for the first time. Our goal is to bring families together to build, explore, and share their passion for the sport, offering something truly special for everyone."

Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, added, "Formula 1 and the LEGO Group are proud to unveil the first product range of our partnership. This fantastic range caters for our entire fan base, with each set celebrating a crucial element and the intricate details of the world of Formula 1, from the pitstops and team garages to the car itself. We share our fans' excitement to see this special partnership come to life and I cannot wait for fans to start building."

Apart from the products, the year 2025 will introduce fans to a variety of content and interactive experiences on digital platforms and at race events. These initiatives are meant to enhance fan engagement through activities under the "Build the Thrill" theme, promising more detailed information soon.

All products in the LEGO and Formula 1 collaboration are set to launch in early 2025, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of Formula 1. LEGO DUPLO and LEGO City sets will be available from 1st January, with LEGO Speed Champions following on 1st March, and LEGO Collectibles coming out on 1st May. The pre-order phase for select items has already commenced in specific regions.
