FYI, this story is more than a year old

As the world comes to grips with the newly released iPhone 5, Apple offers insight to the re-designed free download iTunes.

Available in October, Apple says the new iTunes for Mac and PC features a completely redesigned player, seamless integration with iCloud, and a stunning new look for the world’s most popular online music, apps and movie stores.

With a dramatically simpler and cleaner interface keeping your favourite iTunes content at the forefront, Apple says through iCloud integration any music and movie purchases made on any user's iOS devices or computers can be conveniently displayed in their iTunes library on their Mac or PC.

“We created iTunes because we love music and we’re going back to our roots with an incredibly clean design that keeps your music at the forefront,” says Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.

“The new iTunes works seamlessly with iCloud, always keeping your entire library at your fingertips, and we’re adding great new features that make listening to your music more fun.”

The redesigned iTunes features a full-window interface on user's Mac or PC which the world's most valuable company says makes usage simpler and cleaner.

Makeovers for the iTunes Store and App Store also shows a clean design making shopping easier, with an online catalogue of over 26m songs, 700,000 apps and thousands of films.
