WooHoo NZ Tax Refunds launched their tax refund mobile application this week along, with a website refresh for desktop users and upgrade to the mobile website too.

The app release marks the next evolution in tax refunds and is the first of its kind in New Zealand allowing refunds to be processed in real time with the Inland Revenue (IR). Making applying for WooHoo tax refunds even smarter, easier and faster.

The WooHoo mobile app allows people to connect with registered tax agents NZ Tax Refunds to quickly receive all eligible tax refunds. Other apps rely on data capture and longer processing time.

Tim Brown, chief technology officer at NZ Tax Refunds says the app uses cutting edge technology to accurately calculate how much how much tax someone is owed.

"People will be able to get their 'WooHoo' on the go, from anywhere, at anytime on any type of smart device," he says.

"It's an evolution of our existing systems that have always been all about making access to the tax system smarter, easier and even more accessible for people to get what they are owed."

The application has undergone significant testing and security checks prior to its launch to ensure the technology was running smoothly.

Becki Lake, a recent graduate trialled the app and was impressed by how easy and intuitive it was.

"I probably wouldn't have gone to the trouble of applying for a tax refund myself," she says. "The app took the hassle out of it. It's a make-my-life-easy app."

The app is free and available on all iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded free from the Apple App or Google Play Stores from 1 April.

The average tax refund is $464 and takes less than 60 seconds to process...
