New Zealanders are being asked to donate their old phones to help make a difference to kids at Starship Children’s Hospital.

All proceeds from the recycled phones go towards Starship’s Air Ambulance Service, “which airlifts hundreds of children with life threatening medical illnesses and injuries to Starship every year”.

Any make or model, regardless of condition, can be donated. But the newer the phone is the more it’s worth.

“Most young New Zealanders are enjoying their summer holidays right now,” says Brad Clark, CEO of the Starship Foundation. “Last year, more than 130 young children with complex medical conditions were brought from around the country to Starship Hospital on the Air Ambulance.  The public can help fundraise for this vital service simply by sending us their old mobile phones.”

Phones in working order are refurbished and resold in developing countries and those beyond repair are recycled.
