2degrees launches all you can eat mobile plan
Wed, 15th Dec 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

2degrees is claiming a New Zealand first by offering high-use consumers a monthly plan that covers all national mobile and landline calls for one monthly fee - no contract required.

The fixed plan (available to the first 10,000 customers who sign up before January 31st, 2011) costs $149 per month and offers users zero cents per minute to call any standard mobile or landline in New Zealand.

Larrie Moore, Chief Marketing Officer for 2degrees, explained, “Plans like this have been available to mobile users in overseas markets, but due to lack of competition in the New Zealand market, this is the first time New Zealand’s high mobile users have been able to access comparable value.”

Moore said research revealed more than 200,000 New Zealanders are paying more than $150 per month for their mobile phone usage.

“There’s no excuse for this anymore. Sole business operators especially, who routinely rack up a huge monthly bill for their mobile phone calling as part of their job, will find this new plan to be a God-send,” he stated.

“This plan takes the worry out of having to make a call. You can get on with your life, concentrate on the productivity of your business, secure in the knowledge that all your calls are covered.  Now you don’t have to think about who you’re calling, what network they are on, and how much your mobile might be costing you. You might even want to reconsider your need for a landline phone.”

The ‘0 cent’ plan also includes 250mb of data and 1000 texts.
