Dotcom defies U.S. with mega comeback

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kim Dotcom has revealed his Megaupload site is nearing completion as he prepares to come back with a vengeance across the internet.

Coding work for the new file-hosting site is 90% finished, with servers ordered and investors lined up as Dotcom prepares to bring back the file-hosting site which was destroyed by U.S. government officials in January this year.

While the Megaupload founder has previously stated his desire to bring his creation back to life, latest tweets suggest the second coming will be sooner than expected.

“Quick update on the new Mega: Code 90% done. Servers on the way. Lawyers, partners and investors are ready,” Dotcom says.

“Be patient it’s coming."

As the site prepares for launch, Dotcom says the new Megaupload will show marked improvements from the previous site as internet rumours suggest it will possess a wider range of applications than just file-sharing.

“We are building a massive global network," he says.

"All non-US hosters will be able to connect servers & bandwidth."
