iSky date to be confirmed on Friday

Wed, 1st Dec 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

At an event in Auckland last week Sky unveiled plans to launch its online TV service, iSky, in New Zealand in the coming weeks.

That plan is unchanged, says Sky’s New Media Director, despite forum whispers suggesting it may have been delayed.

Richard Last, Director of Sports Content and New Media Sky, told NetGuide that launch plans for the new service are still on track.

“Our launch plans are on schedule for the next couple of weeks,” he said. “We have a meeting on Friday to confirm the actual date as all of the testing to date is going very well.”

Whether or not that means the launch date will be made public on Friday remains to be seen.

So far six telco companies have confirmed they’ll be offering unmetered iSky access. They are Orcon, Slingshot, Xnet, Farmside, Vodafone and Woosh.
