Microsoft unveils standalone Xbox One...

Microsoft has today announced it is introducing a new standalone Xbox One offering without a Kinect sensor while also reducing the price of its current Xbox One console bundled with Kinect.

The new standalone Xbox One bundle is priced at $599 and will be available in all current markets where Xbox One is currently sold.

The bundle includes everything that can be found in the current Xbox package except a Kinect sensor.

The new price of the current Xbox One SKU with Kinect included is $699 and both will be available for purchase from June 9 from selected retailers nationwide - the price revision is specific to New Zealand only.

The new Xbox One SKU delivers all the great Xbox One features and benefits including access to multiplayer on Xbox Live and unmatched blockbuster games such as “Titanfall,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Dead Rising 3,” “Ryse: Son of Rome” and upcoming titles such as “Watch_Dogs,” “Destiny” and “Sunset Overdrive.”

Gamers can also access popular entertainment apps, such as Twitch, YouTube and Netflix, as well as watch live TV and use OneGuide.

That's in addition to the features that already make the Xbox One great, including the ability to get game invites while watching TV, switch between games and entertainment apps, enjoy Twitch broadcasts and upload your favourite gaming moments.

More details about the new Xbox One as well as video Q&A with Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, and Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Marketing, Strategy and Business, Xbox, are available on Xbox Wire.
