MSI unveils AI-powered laptops & handhelds at IFA 2024
MSI has unveiled its latest range of next-generation AI-powered gaming and business laptops at IFA 2024 in Berlin.
These laptops feature the newest Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2) and AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, coupled with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics, aiming to offer enhanced AI computing power across various models.
The company introduced the Claw 8 AI+ Windows 11 gaming handheld device, which is also powered by Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2). The handheld features an 8-inch screen designed for a smoother and more expansive mobile gaming experience. Eric Kuo, MSI's Executive Vice President and General Manager of the NB Business Unit, commented, "MSI not only brings the industry's most comprehensive AI+ PC lineup but also introduces multiple new laptops and handheld devices designed for gamers worldwide."
Among the new releases, MSI revealed the Prestige and Summit series as leaders in the AI+ business and productivity laptop category. These models feature the Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2), offering up to three times more TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second) compared to their predecessors. Michelle Johnston Holthaus, Intel's Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Client Computing Group, stated, "Intel's long-standing partnership with MSI has been instrumental in co-engineering the MSI Prestige and Summit. Harnessing the power of AI with the all-new Intel Core Ultra processors... these devices offer an unmatched balance of performance and energy efficiency."
The Prestige series comes with laptops in sizes of 13, 14, and 16 inches. They feature ultra-light bodies, larger batteries, longer battery life, and upgraded 5-megapixel webcams. The entire Prestige series can provide up to 20 hours of battery life in video playback and office productivity scenarios. The Summit 13 AI+ Evo, another highlight in the business and productivity series, integrates Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2), a lightweight frame, comprehensive security features, and the MSI Pen 2 stylus.
MSI is also addressing the gaming and creative segments with the Stealth A16 AI+ and Creator A16 AI+ laptops featuring AMD Ryzen AI processors. These models offer 2.8 times more TOPS than their predecessors and are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics, housed in a thin and light magnesium-aluminium alloy chassis. The Summit and Prestige series models with AMD Ryzen AI processors are also supplemented with MSI-exclusive AI-driven software such as MSI AI Engine and MSI AI Noise Cancellation Pro.
An additional key announcement was the introduction of the Venture series laptops, available in 14, 15.6, 16, and 17-inch sizes. These models are equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2) and feature 16:10 OLED displays with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. The Venture series focuses on extended battery life supported by 100W USB-C Power Delivery charging, aiming to support productivity for professionals.
All these new products are available for demonstration at MSI's booth at the IFA 2024 exhibition in Berlin. MSI invites visitors, global suppliers, channel partners, and media to experience their latest offerings and provide feedback directly.
