New anime series Ghost of Tsushima announced for 2027

Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions have announced the production of a new anime series based on Sucker Punch Productions' award-winning video game "Ghost of Tsushima" and its "Legends" mode.

The anime adaptation will be produced in collaboration with Aniplex, a studio known for series such as "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" and "Sword Art Online." Director Takanobu Mizuno will lead the project, with Gen Urobuchi handling Story Composition. Animation will be provided by Kamikaze Douga, while Sony Music will contribute as the strategic partner for the series' music and soundtrack.

Ghost of Tsushima's rich, immersive world and its fantastical Legends mode based on Japanese mythology provide the perfect canvas for this project, and Aniplex is the perfect partner to translate Sucker Punch Productions' hit video game into a stunning new anime series."
