An email was sent to Apple staff the other day from CEO Tim Cook, and in that email Cook described the current situation of the conditions of Apple's supply chain. The general tone of the email was overall positive, and the email was released around the same time Apple released the 2012 Supplier Responsibility Report, which also contained details on Apple's suppliers, as well as a list of over 150 companies that supplied Apple with materials or parts used in their products. New rumours have surfaced regarding the Apple education event set to happen in New York later this week, which attempt to pinpoint exactly what Apple will be announcing and/or releasing. At the moment, all signs point to a release that will potentially "digitally destroy" textbook publishing, and there's even hints that a GarageBand for eBooks could potentially be released, whatever such a statement implies.

The BBC recently interviewed former Apple CEO John Sculley, who took the opportunity to clarify a few things about Apple. Namely, the fact that he didn't fire Jobs and how he's seen the company grow from only having $2 billion in cash to having the amount it does now, over $82 billion.
