LG & will.i.am unveil AI-enhanced speaker range

LG Electronics has introduced its new range of Bluetooth speakers in collaboration with musician and tech entrepreneur will.i.am, featuring AI capabilities and enhanced sound quality.

The "xboom by will.i.am" collection includes three Bluetooth speakers - the xboom Bounce, Grab, and Stage 301. These models incorporate AI Sound, AI Lighting, AI Calibration, and the RAiDiO.FYI platform. The AI Sound feature conducts an analysis of audio content to automatically adjust settings that highlight melodies, rhythms, or vocals. AI Lighting syncs the speakers' bar lights with the audio, and AI Calibration adjusts the sound according to the environment to provide an immersive experience.

For the first time, the xboom speakers have a dedicated button for connecting to RAiDiO.FYI, will.i.am's infotainment platform, which utilises an AI Radio Host to customise content for each listener.

The xboom Bounce model features built-in, up-bouncing passive radiators, dual dome tweeters, and a track-type woofer, delivering high-frequency stereo with detailed clarity. This model is equipped with a 30-hour battery life, water and dust resistance, and is designed with a versatile strap for easy transportability.

The xboom Grab offers a compact design with dual passive radiators for dynamic sound and is designed for portability. This speaker provides up to 20 hours of battery life and comes with water and dust resistance, making it suitable for an active lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the xboom Stage 301 is ideal for events and gatherings, featuring a 6.5-inch woofer and dual midrange drivers to produce robust audio. With a replaceable battery allowing 11 hours of audio playback and an IPX4 water resistance rating, the Stage 301 is designed for flexibility and durability.

In addition to speakers, the xboom product line includes xboom Buds, which utilise graphene drivers for sound strength and durability. The earbuds incorporate Active Noise Cancelling technology and LE Audio Auracast, enabling shared listening experiences.

The "xboom by will.i.am" products are set to become available globally in 2025 and are currently on display at CES 2025. This collaboration is part of LG's strategy to enhance the xboom brand by incorporating will.i.am's creative input and expertise.
