Tue, 11th Jun 2024

Samsung Electronics Australia has unveiled its 2024 monitor range, incorporating the latest OLED technology and artificial intelligence. The new Odyssey OLED and Smart Monitor series and the ViewFinity range are set to enhance user experiences in gaming, entertainment, and professional use.

The Odyssey OLED series introduces the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 and the 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6. The Odyssey OLED G8, priced at AUD $1,999, is Samsung's first flat 32-inch OLED monitor featuring a 4K UHD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 240Hz refresh rate, and an impressive 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time.

The Odyssey OLED G6, retailing at AUD $1,499, offers a QHD resolution and an even faster 360Hz refresh rate, making it a prime choice for hardcore gamers. Both monitors come equipped with Samsung’s proprietary burn-in protection technology, OLED Safeguard+, which boasts a new heat mitigation system designed to prevent screen burn-in and maintain visual integrity.

Samsung’s 2024 monitors are designed to cater to a diverse range of user needs, from vibrant OLED gaming experiences to professional-grade creative tools. Phil Gaut, Senior Director of Display, Brand and Memory at Samsung Electronics Australia, commented, "Our latest monitor lineups deliver a breadth of options to Australians, offering more seamless experiences, with new enhancements for work, living and entertainment at home."

The Smart Monitor lineup for 2024 includes the M8, M7, and M5 models. The flagship 32-inch Smart Monitor M8, priced at AUD $999 and powered by AI, aims to blend entertainment with productivity. It includes features such as 4K upscaling and Active Voice Amplifier Pro, which optimises dialogue based on ambient sound levels. The M8 also supports Samsung’s Gaming Hub and Smart TV apps, promising nearly 4K resolution for gaming and streaming. The M7 model is available in both 32-inch and 43-inch variants, with prices starting at AUD $699 and AUD $849, respectively, while the M5 series, ranging from 27 to 32 inches, begins at AUD $399.

Additionally, Samsung’s new ViewFinity series targets professionals and creatives. The line consists of S8, S7, and S6 models, each built to deliver high-fidelity colour representation with support for HDR10 and billions of colours. The ViewFinity S8 model, available in 27-inch and 32-inch versions, includes a built-in KVM switch for easy device management and a USB-C port capable of 90W charging. Prices for the S8 start at AUD $699.

The ViewFinity S7 and S6 are available in a range of sizes, each featuring high-definition resolutions and the latest eye-care technology certified by TÜV Rheinland. These monitors also include an Easy Setup Stand that requires no tools and facilitates quick and easy assembly.

Samsung’s emphasis on integrating AI features extends across its new lineups. For instance, the upgraded 32-inch Smart Monitor M8 employs the NQM AI processor for tasks such as AI upscaling lower-resolution content to near 4K quality and optimising audiovisual elements through adaptive voice amplification. This model also boasts a 360 Audio Mode for immersive soundscapes when paired with compatible Galaxy Buds.
