Should Kiwis buy Apple's iPad Air...?
Apple’s iPad Air has charged to the top of the tablet review table in New Zealand, beating 27 other devices in a recent report compiled by Consumer NZ.
The non-profit Kiwi organisation recommends Cupertino’s flagship tablet as the best to buy, ahead of industry rivals the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Microsoft Surface 2.
The product, which comes in at the higher-end of the market at $1049, was released across the country to much fanfare on November 5, billed as “thinner and lighter” with a raft of new features.
"There is a bit more variety but you can see from our scores Apple holds the top position,” says Sue Chetwin, CEO, Consumer NZ. “If you've got Apple products you're unlikely to buy anything other than that.
"But if you've got some other products like Microsoft or PC it's worth looking at some of the android-based products."
According to the report, Consumer NZ believes the iPad Air is much lighter to use, tapping into Cupertino’s original claims when unveiled to the world in October last year.
As reported by TechDay in January, worldwide demand for the iPad Air, along with the flagship smartphone the iPhone 5S surged Apple sales past the 80 million units mark during December 2013, driven in part by the strong holiday season demand.
