Acer reveals DA1 & Nitro GA1 monitor series ahead of Computex

Tue, 4th Jun 2024

Acer has unveiled its latest range of smart monitors, introducing two new series designed to cater to various consumer needs. The Acer DA1 and Nitro GA1 series boast innovative features aimed at enhancing productivity, usability, and viewing experiences for home entertainment, work, and gaming.

The new monitors come in 31.5- and 27-inch models, designed to fit neatly into any home setup. They serve as multi-functional devices, capable of acting as an entertainment hub for streaming content, an extended workstation for daily tasks, and a gaming companion with swift refresh rates. The monitors include smart features such as wireless projection, screen splitting via Multiview, and more.

The Acer DA271K and DA321QK LED monitors feature 4K UHD resolution, while the Nitro GA271U P and Nitro GA321QU P offer WQHD resolution and a high 180 Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth, high-quality visuals. Both series promise vivid detail and fluid motion, essential for immersive viewing and gaming experiences. Additionally, the screens come equipped with HDR10 and 250 nits of brightness to enhance colour accuracy and realism.

The monitors support AMD FreeSync and are compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC, which helps to minimise screen tearing when playing games or watching videos. The ultra-low latency ensures minimal input lag, making fast-paced action sequences appear seamless and without blurring.

All four monitors are equipped with Google TV, providing a unified home for movies, shows, and more from various apps and subscriptions. Users can access popular streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, and YouTube, all from a single screen. The inclusion of Google Cast allows for effortless casting of content from phones or tablets directly to the monitors.

The monitors' wireless projection and screen mirroring technology eliminate the need for multiple cables, promoting a cleaner, more organised workspace. Bluetooth connectivity further reduces wire clutter, facilitating easy pairing with other devices, such as speakers and peripherals. As part of the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem, these monitors can seamlessly connect to Wi-Fi networks and integrate with other smart devices in the household.

The Multiview feature enhances usability by allowing the screen to split into various sections for simultaneous viewing of different content sources. This is particularly beneficial for multitaskers. Users can also attach external webcams for video calls and streaming, with the option to upload videos directly from the monitors to their preferred platforms. The ergonomic design of the stand ensures that users can find their optimal viewing position, and the monitors can also be VESA wall-mounted to save desk space.

Specific details regarding the pricing and availability of Acer's new monitors are yet to be confirmed, with the DA271K and DA321QK expected to launch in Q4.
